Our interview process

1 | Everyone starts with one or two phone interviews.
The call typically lasts between 15-30 minutes each. You should be prepared to talk about your experience, background, and interest in Zero Company. We offer you a few tips to set yourself up for success. Find a quiet and comfortable place to conduct your phone interview. If you’re in a loud or noisy location, it will be hard for you to concentrate and difficult for your interviewer to understand you. Do your homework. Check out our website, read some of our posts, check our social media, and discover our mission. This shows interest in Zero Company and it will help you form questions you may have.

2 | You’ll have a chance to showcase your skills and personality.
After you’ve completed the phone interview, we typically get back to you promptly — up to a week or so at the latest. If we decide to proceed, we’ll have our growth director or a senior member give you a call and do an over-the-phone exam to dig a bit deeper. The exam will be based on your previous history, and the position you’re interested in.

3 | If we think there’s a fit, we’ll bring you onsite for a round of in-person interviews.
After the over-the-phone interview, you may be asked to come into our HQ office located in Dana Point, CA. This is the big one. You will meet with some of our senior team members for a sit-down interview where we may ask situational-based questions, how you’ve handled previous projects, and questions related to culture fit and more. You will also have a chance to meet the team, see our culture and see if you can see yourself being a part of the Zero Company team.

After the group interview, you’ll sit down with the CEO and an executive for a final time. From there, we’ll follow up within that week.
